Our commitment to sustainability
We are transforming the glass industry with our premium glass bottles produced with cutting-edge sustainable technologies.
Sustainable Glass is glass with a significantly lower carbon footprint. It is defined by its production process, which harmoniously blends traditional glassmaking expertise with cutting-edge, eco-friendly technologies. This innovative approach significantly reduces the environmental impact of glass production by minimizing energy consumption, utilizing high percentages of post-consumer recycled (PCR) materials, and leveraging clean energy sources such as hydrogen and electricity.
Sustainable Glass is not just a product but a commitment to the future. It embodies our dedication to reducing greenhouse gas emissions, preserving natural resources, and leading the industry toward a more sustainable, transparent, and conscientious practice.
Leading the way with hydrogen technology
Hydrogen is at the forefront of our sustainability efforts. As a clean fuel, it produces only water vapor when burned, making it an excellent alternative to fossil fuels. In 2023, we integrated hydrogen into our glass production processes, achieving over 60% hydrogen usage and reducing our direct CO2 emissions by more than 30%.
This innovative approach has allowed us to maintain our high-quality standards while significantly decreasing our carbon footprint.
Innovating with hybrid regenerative furnace
Our hybrid regenerative furnace combines the efficiency of all-electric furnaces with the flexibility of conventional fossil-fuel furnaces. By increasing the electrical melting share to over 40%, we have reduced natural gas consumption and CO2 emissions by more than 50%.
This pioneering technology, supported by the Innovation Fund, enables us to adapt to changing energy markets and enhance the sustainability of our production processes.
Resource efficient with recycled materials
We are committed to environmental sustainability through the strategic use of recycled materials. By incorporating up to 40% post-consumer recycled (PCR) glass, we reduce our direct CO2 emissions by approximately 35% and overall cradle-to-gate emissions by 27%. This not only conserves natural resources but also minimizes waste, promoting a circular economy.
Lightweighting for efficiency and performance
Our lightweighting initiative redesigns bottles to be lighter, reducing energy consumption, water usage, and CO2 emissions. This transformative approach enhances operational efficiency and product performance while maintaining brand style. Lighter bottles require less raw material, leading to lower transportation costs and resource strain, directly benefiting our clients.
Achieve Environmental Certification
We offer expertise in environmental certification, helping you accurately measure and manage carbon emissions using the Greenhouse Gas (GHG) Protocol. Our team supports you in achieving carbon neutrality through selected offsetting projects, ensuring precise and compliant carbon management. Demonstrate your commitment to environmental responsibility and enhance your market competitiveness with our certification services.
