Environmental Protection Officer (m/f)
Location: Hrastnik, Slovenia
Employment type: Permanent employment contract with a 6-month probation and onboarding period
Start date: Immediately or by agreement
Your tasks and responsibilities:
- Performing the duties of an Environmental Protection Officer,
- Advising and informing employees regarding the implementation of prescribed environmental protection measures,
- Preparing opinions and proposals for reducing environmental impacts (waste, wastewater, air emissions),
- Introducing environmentally friendly procedures, technologies, and materials,
- Maintaining and processing records and reporting to competent institutions,
- Performing tasks in accordance with applicable environmental legislation,
- Ensuring the lawful and safe execution of activities within the scope of work,
- Participating in or leading projects and coordinating activities,
- Monitoring developments in the field of ecology and implementing improvements,
- Cooperating and communicating with other organizational units,
- Managing the ISO 14001 Environmental Management System,
- Participating in the preparation of sustainability reports.
What we expect:
- At least a Level VI degree (according to legislation, Level VI may also be acceptable) in a natural science or technical field (e.g. environmental protection, chemistry, technology),
- Minimum 5 years of work experience in the field of environmental protection,
- Knowledge of environmental legislation,
- Analytical thinking, precision, responsibility, ability to work independently and within a team, strong communication and organizational skills,
- Good knowledge of regulations and legislation in ecology and environmental protection.
