Background
Swedish Tonic is a successful soda brewing company founded in 2016, with sales worldwide. Started by a group of young entrepreneurs, who had the ambition to create an authentic, non-artificial tonic syrup, it has grown into reaching a wider audience with a selection of tonic based mixers. The tonic syrup is still handcrafted in small batches and made with pure, natural, high-quality ingredients. It has no additions of aromas, white sugar or other additives.
Swedish Tonic has won numerous awards both nationally and internationally in the past years. Notably, in 2019 the Swedish Design Awards and 2020 gold in Pentawards for Tonic Syrup, one of the most prestigious competitions within packaging design. It has turned to BLUEGLASS. to develop its refreshed Glögg bottle for the 2020 season.
The new bottle
This year, this Christmas, the Gin & Tonic mulled wine is back with a refined recipe in a new bottle reflecting the Swedish style: simple, modern and elegant. A hand-crafted experience with both alcohol and no/low alcohol for different retail channels with a powerful story and design expression.
The Swedish Tonic glögg combines unmatched Christmas traditional flavors with the bitterness of a natural based organic tonic and the new BLUEGLASS. bottle captures the contemporary feel of the brand. Both Gin & Tonic and Glögg (mulled/spiced wine) are drinks with a rich history. The clash between the two is new – tradition in a contemporary interpretation. The design is telling old stories about legacies, spices and handcraft in a bold, clean and straightforward festive style.
Indeed, Swedish Tonic has a unique explorative energy which needed to be reflected in the design of the bottle. Celebrated for its clean and simple shape, the BB ODEN type bottle is available in 500ML capacity (and in 200ML starting February 2021). It is finished with an elegant t-cork mouth but can be produced with GPI 28-400 finish upon request. BLUEGLASS. has selected the Hrastnik1860, as it produces and prints the bottles directly at the plant, meaning that every stage of production takes place in Europe.
This new development arrives right on time for the holiday season.
